Jamie McClean
Jamie McCleanPERFORMANCE DATE: Sunday, June 17th
TYPE: New Country
WEBSITE: www.jamiemclean.com
DESCRIPTION: Jamie McLean is most widely known as the guitarist for the New Orleans jazz, funk institution The Dirty Dozen Brass Band. He has toured the world over playing for hundreds of thousands of people on stages such as Madison Square Garden, Shoreline Amphitheater, and Fuji Rock. He has recorded with everyone from Norah Jones to Dr. John and has performed with The Black Crowes, Widespread Panic, North Mississippi Allstars, Robert Randolph; among many others. While the Dirty Dozen Brass Band groove is infectious and timeless, the sideman guitar slinger slot holds it's limitations. Having always been a songwriter, singer and front man, Jamie began to focus on his roots and in the early part of 2004 he formed his own group the Jamie McLean Band. Over the past year and a half Jamie's songwriting, filled with catchy hooks, beautiful lyrics and scorching guitar work has mingled with the soulful gumbo of the deep south and while The Jamie McLean Band is based in New York City, the influences of southern rock, blues, R&B and funk is unmistakable. Jamie's music is rich with rock and roll, dirty blues, beautifully crafted original songwriting, and if Keith Richards and Van Morrison could have a bastard child this might be what he would sound like. Rolling Stones (Exile on Main St., Sticky Fingers era.), Black Crowes and the Allman Brothers are easy comparisons and while Jamie acknowledges these artists as influences, he is just as easily found dialing in Bob Dylan, Sting, Bruce Hornsby, Coldplay, or Eric Clapton on his iPod.

The Eddie Sherman Show
The Eddie Sherman ShowPERFORMANCE DATE: Sunday, July 14th
TYPE: Jazz
WEBSITE: www.eddieshermanshow.com
DESCRIPTION: Singing since he was a kid…..that’s what he did. Growing up where Country Music was the dominating household soundtrack, until the well older teen siblings started introducing the 50’s pop & rock of the day .....the performance gene was musically injected at a very early age. Drive-In Movie all nighters filled with Nashville performers & Film Soundtracks from “The Jolson Story” to “West Side Story” altered the state of mind of the young Eddie Sherman. It takes years to bring a boy to an adults’ perspective on life. Finding the songs of the Big Bands & their Singers was all it took. The Eddie Sherman Show was born from that perspective. And, though the young may have an appreciation for this music….only those of us who have really lived, loved, lost…. been down, out, or on top of the world, can truly identify with this catalogue of music…..the music of the great American composers, arrangers and singers of the early to mid 20th Century. The Eddie Sherman Show is an evening spent honoring a time when music meant something to its listeners. Take a trip back in time when the world was a gentler place and America still held that sense of pride and wonderment about herself that set her apart from every other place in this world of ours.

The Diamonds
The DiamondsPERFORMANCE DATE: Friday, August 31st
TYPE: Oldies
WEBSITE: www.thediamonds.cc
DESCRIPTION: It's been over Fifty years since THE DIAMONDS released an instant million selling hit called Little Darlin'. The song continues to sell worldwide and to date has sold over 20 million copies. Through the years since the release of Little Darlin' THE DIAMONDS have learned one important lesson-the durability of 1950's music is as much about the future as about the past. As a result, THE DIAMONDS continue to expand their audience to this day by performing in a myriad of surroundings, including: with Symphony Orchestras, in Performing Arts Theatres and major concert halls, on cruise ships, in casinos, at county and state fairs, on tours of England, Ireland, Brazil, Chile, Korea, and Japan, for benefit concerts and conventions, at nightclubs and, through the most recent addition to their repertoire, the Christmas show "Silver Bells And Diamonds". "We've been pleased to find a growing audience among all age groups. They like songs they can understand, remember and actually sing the words to-tomorrow, or even 20 years from now." A major reason for THE DIAMONDS' longevity as performers and entertainers lies in the diverse backgrounds of the individual members of the group. Multi-talented tenor, Bobby Poynton, graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1980 and shortly thereafter moved to Hollywood to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. He landed parts on such shows as Days of Our Lives, Jake and the Fatman, Life Goes On, Scarecrow and Mrs. King, The Sentinel, Touched by an Angel, Viper, Promised Land and Walker: Texas Ranger. Then his continuing desire to sing full time resulted in a 6-year stint as a member of The Lettermen, recording six albums with that vocal trio. Bobby's wide array of talents continues to entertain all that see and hear him.
